What's New

Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now supports a localized user interface in twelve languages, including English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, and Turkish. The localization applies across the entire Studio UI, enabling global data engineering, analytics, and ML teams to work in their preferred language. This enhancement is designed to reduce cognitive friction and improve productivity for non-English-speaking users working within the platform.

How It Works

  • Automatic language detection: SageMaker Unified Studio reads the browser's default language settings and automatically applies the matching supported language to the UI on first load.
  • Manual language selection: Users can override the auto-detected language at any time by navigating to their profile icon and selecting "Language selector" in profile settings, then choosing from the twelve supported languages.
  • Full UI coverage: The selected language applies consistently across all areas of the SageMaker Unified Studio interface, including navigation panels, editors, data browsers, workflow tools, and domain management screens.
  • Domain compatibility: The localization feature works in both AWS IAM Identity Center-based domains and IAM role-based domains, covering the two primary authentication and access configurations for the platform.
  • Per-user preference: Language settings are user-scoped, meaning individual team members can each configure their own preferred language independently within the same domain or project.

  • Pricing: No additional cost; localization is a built-in UI feature of SageMaker Unified Studio with no separate pricing tier.
  • Limitations: Language support is currently limited to the twelve listed languages; other languages will default to English. Localization covers the UI only and does not automatically translate user-generated content, code, or data.
